This sencha was made from Japan’s famous Yabukita tea varietal. Unlike previous senchas we have carried, this one was left totally unshaded to grow naturally in the sunlight. As a result it has a somewhat brighter and more nutty and herbaceous profile than others we have carried. This is a very well rounded tea with a classic sencha profile suitable for everyday enjoyment.

Japanese green teas such as this are steamed, rather than baked or fried, in order to arrest oxidation and lock in their green flavors.
