Baozhong is a lightly oxidized, unrolled, and unroasted oolong tea from northern Taiwan. Meaning “paper wrapped”, Baozhong tea was historically sold in 5 ounce paper satchels made from cotton. Modern Taiwanese teas, in contrast, are nearly all sold in vacuum sealed containers. This tea should taste highly floral, brimming summer-y notes of wildflowers and fresh vegetables.

This tea was awarded “Fine Grade” in the Wenshan Bao-Chung Tea Competition of 2022. It is pungently floral while also remaining crisp and well-balanced. It leaves a lingering aftertaste of melted butter and potpourri. This is a powerfully floral tea with endless complexity, a real masterpiece of Taiwan oolong craftsmanship.
