About our program
As the oldest standing cafe in Boulder, Trident has been in the tea business for over four decades. Unlike other cafes, we aren’t content buying from the large Western-facing wholesalers. Likewise, we don’t buy from wholesale market vendors in origin countries. Rather, we work tirelessly making connections and building relationships with farmers and producers, directly exporting and importing from those who grow and make the tea itself. This process involves constantly cupping new lots, making new contacts in foreign countries, building and maintaining those relationships, providing criticism and feedback on tea samples, and supporting the farmers and producers by paying a fair and sustainable price for their teas. As a result, we are able to offer one of the finest and widest ranging selections of specialty loose-leaf teas in the country.
