Da Hong Pao or “Big Red Robe” is chief among the four famous Wuyi oolongs. Originally propagated from just four mother trees (from which picking is now forbidden), this legendary tea is one of the most sought after in China.

This tea placed third in the 2022 Northern Fujian Tea Competition (Tian Fu Bei Tea Competition), beating hundreds of other lots to be considered an “ideal” Da Hong Pao oolong. It is an exceptionally smooth and balanced tea. It displays both sweetness and earthiness, alongside a powerful floral aroma. This is a classic tea difficult to procure outside of eastern Asia.
