Meaning “Yellow Goddess of Mercy,” Huang Guan Yin is a recently developed rock oolong variety. A cross between Huang Mei Gui and the ubiquitous Tie Guan Yin, Huang Guan Yin is rich and complex with a pungent floral aroma.

This tea placed first in the 2022 Northern Fujian Tea Competition (Tian Fu Bei Tea Competition), beating hundreds of other lots to be considered the “ideal” Huang Guan Yin oolong. Its taste is mineral rich and floral, with characteristic nuttiness. The roast is somewhat heavy, and the aftertaste is sweet and lingering. As with other Pin Zhong (品种) rock oolongs (that is, more recently hybridized varietals), this tea delivers a unique and multidimensional flavor experience.
