Trident Golden Assam
Trident Golden Assam
Another whole leaf wild-harvested Assam tea suitable for both gong-fu and western style tea brewing. Compared to our “Wild Assam”, the Golden Assam includes more buds in the plucking, resulting in a more vibrant and energizing flavor while also being slightly lighter in the body. The tea is light and sweet while retaining its classic Assam maltiness. A good counterpoint to our “Wild Assam”, it is a slightly less bold but perhaps more drinkable tea. If you’ve ever wanted to try a more elevated style from one of the world’s most famous tea growing regions, this is your chance.
Assam sits at the foothills of the Himalayas, in a large tropical region which extends through Myanmar and southern China and is the biological birthplace of tea. Tea was historically consumed by the indigenous tribes, when in the 19th century the British colonizers began cultivating these wild tea plants in an attempt to circumvent China’s monopoly on tea. This tea was sourced from a local farming cooperative which focuses on organic farming and sustainable practices.
