The Himalayan Wonder is a very fine first-flush tea from the high-elevation tea estate of Gopaldhara. It has a classic spring Darjeeling profile of juicy vine-ripe grapes, fragrant wildflowers, and fresh garden herbs. Being from a higher elevation, the brewed tea has more strength and energy, due to its more stressful growing conditions. First-flush teas such as this are given a very light oxidation in order to preserve the bright and fresh springtime flavors. We recommend this tea for fans of the genre, or for those looking for a premium example of what a Darjeeling can be.
This tea was grown at a very high elevation (around 7,000 feet in the Himalayan foothills) and made from 100% AV2 clonal bushes (AV2 is the tea varietal, clonal simply means that the bushes are very closely genetically related).
