Moonlight Black
Moonlight Black
Another very fine second flush Darjeeling, this is a very classic, very high quality black tea from one of the highest tea gardens in the Himalayas. Summer harvested teas in Darjeeling are traditionally allowed to oxidize fully into black teas. Being the second flush of the growing season, these teas have a little less fragrance and vibrancy than those harvested in the spring (“first flush”), but tend to be more mellow and sweeter in flavor, making them more appropriate to be processed as true blacks.
This is an elevated example of a classic high quality second flush Darjeeling. It is dark and rich with sweet and tannin-y winey notes, balanced alongside hints of dark oak and juniper berries. Indian black lovers, this is what you’ve been waiting for.
