Will Marsh earned his MFA in world music from the California Institute of the Arts in 2013 where he studied intensively under maestro Aashish Khan (the eldest son of maestro Ali Akbar Khan). He has also had the privilege of studying with eminent sitar masters Roshan Jamal Bhartiya, Tushar Bhaita and Shakir Khan. Aside from shining on stage as a Hindustani sitarist, Will’s original music blends many styles for a unique sound of his own on guitar and sitar. Currently, Will resides in the California Bay Area as an active teacher, performer and recording artist.
Jeffrey Rodgers has played tabla since 1974. In 1981 he became a student of the great tabla maestro Alla Rakha. He has recorded and played with many artists, including Pundit Rajeev Taranath. Jeffrey has been involved in many “fusion” projects with Western Classical and Flamenco among many other collaborations. He lives and gardens in Longmont, where he also teaches tabla.
David Goodheim is an American performer, composer, recording artist, and improvisor. He is also a perennial student of the classical music of northern India since 2003, having studied within the preeminent Maihar Gharana on sarod with Ustad Aashish Khan and Pandit Rajeev Taranath and earlier on sitar with Ustad Roshan Jamal Bhartiya. He attended the University of Colorado (Phi Beta Kappa honors, EPO Biology '08) and received a BFA performer/composer degree from California Institute of the Arts in 2008.
Zachary Hedstrom has been a student of tabla for 7 years, trained in the style of the Punjab Gharana under the tutelage of Jeffrey Rodgers. Zachary currently studies vocal raga music under the guidance of Ustad Roshan Bhartiya. With a formal background in mathematics, his tabla creates a rich percussive landscape with a technical and mathematical playing style.
