Trident’s own Jason Brandt will take the stage for two sets of originals and curated covers.

Jason Brandt is a saxophonist, guitarist, and singer/songwriter from Wilson County, Texas currently living in Boulder, CO. His music is a blend of blues, roots rock, funk, and country, featuring smart, bittersweet lyrics and passionate instrumental solos.

Jason began playing music in middle school as a saxophonist, admiring the likes of Joshua Redman, Stanley Turrentine, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, and Sonny Stitt. He went on to study jazz and creative writing at the University of North Texas and taught himself blues guitar and vocals, emulating the styles of Robert Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Luther Allison, Tab Benoit, Robert Cray, Bonnie Raitt, and Jonny Lang.

He wrote his first songs while living in central Texas and southern Georgia. Over the years, he’s played saxophone as a side man in dance, jazz, blues, and rock bands. He’s been leading the Jason Brandt Band since September 2021.
