New Ancient Roots is a live sound laboratory using pre-Columbian instruments and more. This art performance endeavors to experiment with music, rhythm, and visual elements to activate imaginary poetry. Hosted by Boulder visual artist and found objects sculptor Ajedrea Silvestre and featuring a cast of other local artists performing on non-conventional musical instruments inspired by the sounds and tools of ancient ceremony. The event will be part presentation, part performance, and part audience participation. Join Ajedrea to explore and expand the boundaries of what music is, how it is made, and its fundamental purpose.
