Cypherbird Projects presents a staged reading of Stealing Starlight, a new play about gnomes, magic, and a quest to steal everything shiny. Join us for this fractured fairytale by local playwright Lisa Wagner Erickson and directed by Candace Joice.
The evening will open with a whimsical act by drag and performance artist Weird Alnite.
About the play: Developed with the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company's 2023-2024 Writer's Group, Stealing Starlight is an absurd fairytale/ fever dream about a gnome named Burd, who is cast out of the gnome kingdom for snatching plastic jewels from King Gob (pronounced like "Bob" with a G). Desperate and lonely, Burd enlists a reluctant librarian and two interns to join her on a quest to steal all of Gob's plastic jewels and his bedazzled sword and throne.
