Exquisite Hojicha
This Hojicha is Japanese green tea made from the leaves and stems of spring tea bushes which has also been roasted in the traditional Edo-period style. The flavor is much less grassy than other Japanese green teas - it suggests roasted barley, bamboo stalks, and sweet baking spices. Being roasted and composed of more stems and stalks, it also contains much less caffeine than a traditional Sencha or Gyokuro tea.
This is a high grade Hojicha made only from late-spring tea leaves. As such it was given a lighter roast in order to preserve its subtlety and nuance. Recommended for Japanese tea connoisseurs and those looking for a low-caffeine nightcap.
