This Mujou Betsugi, or “first class” sencha is a blend of very high quality tea leaves from different regions in Japan. It is an exquisitely balanced high end tea that brews a classically robust sencha profile. It is suggestive of sea vegetables, melon rind, and toasted nuts.

Japanese green teas such as this are steamed, rather than baked or fried, in order to arrest oxidation and lock in their green flavors.
