Sencha Koushun
Sencha Koushun
Koushun (香駿, こうしゅん) is a highly renowned Japanese tea cultivar prized for its smooth umami and subtle herbacious flavors. It was first developed in 1970 as a cross between the Kurasawa and Kanayamidori cultivars, though it wasn’t officially registered until 2000. Its leaves are an especially deep green and are medium sized relative to other Japanese teas. We find it to be especially smooth and buttery, with rich vegetal notes. This one is definitely an easy drinker that should please Japnese green connoisseurs.
