Traditional Tie Guan Yin
Traditional Tie Guan Yin
This traditional Tie Guan Yin oolong was twisted and roasted, rather than being balled and left green like its more contemporary counterpart. We were able to purchase part of a small, special commissioned lot produced by a real old school master. The traditional Tie Guan Yin still retains the distinct floral aroma of the varietal, but is balanced out by the charcoal roast. We taste notes of honeysuckles and sweet cream, with a pleasing mineral-ity. Though this is a very ubiquitous tea, it has been made in a style that is nearly extinct. It is a pleasing and balanced tea which we hope you will get a chance to try.
