Old Camphorwood (2008)
Old Camphorwood (2008)
A remarkably clean and smooth shou style pu’er tea, the Old Camphorwood has had plenty of time to mellow and achieve an intense woodsy sweetness that few other teas can offer. The material was grown on Mang Fei Mountain in the Yong De area of Yunnan, China. It subsequently spent five years aging in relatively dry Kunming city. The result is a remarkable complex and medicinal tea with dried fruit and antique wood notes. It is a highly warming tea which will be suitable for those averse to the very funky and fishy notes of more freshly fermented shou pu’er.
