A biographical drama film based on the book of Margot Lee Shetterly. Before John Glenn orbited the earth, or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated women mathematicians known as "human computers" use pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets, and astronauts, into space. Amongst them were a group of exceptionally talented African-American women. This is the phenomenal true story of three brilliant women at NASA -- Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, whose calculations helped fuel some of America's greatest achievements in space-- a powerful, relevatory history essential to our understanding of race, discrimination, and achievement in modern America. A stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized world.
