Filmmaker Ava DuVernay explorers the history of racial inequality in the United states, focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans. Titled after the 13th amendment to the United States competition, adopted in 1865, which of our slavery throughout the United States, and ended involuntary servitude except as a punishment for conviction of a crime. In this thought-provoking documentary, scholars, activists, and politicians explore the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States.

02/06 Malcolm X: 1972 (6-9pm)

Using interviews and footage from his public speeches, as well as a terrific voice-over and narrator in James Earl Jones, this documentary brings to life the history, philosophy and legacy of civil rights leader Malcolm X. The filmmaker show how spirituality help him form Malcolm his beliefs that African-Americans needed to decide their own destiny.
